Ca. 1940s, 'Francis Dexter Original 'label Dress buttons to waist with the buttons; they are push and pull, removable style. Matching button at the tiny cuff of each arm. Side metal zipper closure. Nice fitted waist and bodice flares out into a wide A-line skirt. Measures approx size S/M - 34" bust, 14" straight across shoulders (which are heavily padded), 28" waist, 38" hips, 15-1/2" from shoulder to waist, 42" total length from shoulder to hemline with no hem to let down. In very good, wearable condition; there is a dime sized faint bleached out spot near the left waist area, as well as a smaller than matchhead sized hole in this same area. Also a couple of pinhead sized holes on the back skirt. The button on the left sleeve has lost some lustre but is still intact and fine. Age darkening to the pin push/pulls on each button as well, however this doesn't show when the buttons are buttoned of course. Late 1940s beautiful Black Suit with straight skirt and peplum on jacket. Lightweight wool gabardine, jacket is fully lined in black fabric; has a fitted waist and peplum effect with faux pocket on each side of hip. 3/4 length or just past elbow length sleeves, padded shoulders (of course!) Skirt has a side metal zipper and is lined on front side; slight A-line shape to the skirt. Measures; jacket 38" bust (when buttoned so will go larger if left unbuttoned), 30" waist, 42" hips, 21" from shoulder to hem; skirt is 29" waist (but has plenty of room to move the button at least 2"), 42" hips, 26" total length from waist to hem edge. In beautiful, excellent condition with no holes, stains, fade, mothing, etc. Zipper works perfectly; all buttons intact. The kind of suit that will always look fantastic! Appears to be never worn, deadstock but without hangtags Unlined, pieces have a linen look but are a cotton and wool (?) blend Modified A-line skirt has side metal zipper and button; cropped jacket has bracelet length sleeves and faux flapover pocket at each side of waist. Shell is adorable in a dove grey with matching smoky grey appliques; fabric covered buttons down the back. Measures: Skirt 30" waist, 38" hips, 27" total length; top 38" bust, 17" from shoulder to hemline; jacket 15" straight across shoulders, 38" bust (with sides touching in front), 19" total length from shoulder to hemline, arm length is 17" from shoulder to cuff edge.
